摘要:

Depression is a mood disorder that can be resulted from discoordination between affective and cognitive systems. Our studies have revealed an important role of the dorsal cognitive control regions in depression symptoms. We further investigated the neural mechanisms for depression vulnerability and resilience. We hypothesized that when encountering a mental stressor repeatedly, those who lack the habituation effect as well as sustained activity in the cognitive control system might be the ones who are vulnerable to depression. By studying the dynamic changes of neural activity in the affective and cognitive systems over time, we might be able to identify individuals who are vulnerable and who are resilient to depression which is the first step toward successful prevention of depression in the future.
