Abstract:

Mammalian pain and touch sensing neurons are primary sensory neurons mediating pain/itch/temperature and gentle touch/vibration sensation.  My lab is interested at different biological questions related to these neurons/pathways and their crosstalk in normal and pathological conditions.  Specifically, I will talk three unpublished stories during this seminar:
1. A new functional organization of MrgD+ non-peptidergic nociceptors

2. High speed imaging to differentiate mouse paw reflex in response to pain or touch stimulation.

3. Early RET+ deep spinal cord inhibitory interneurons in “gating” pain.
